I started working with Linux servers in 1997 as part of 2 person team building a 6 machine Linux Computer lab from spare parts for my university computer department. It was not wildly successful, but it sure was fun! Upon graduation in 2000 I moved to LAMP/LAPP stack dynamic web development as my career focus.
As much as I've enjoyed that field, my favorite parts of the job have always been research and working at the command-line so I am interested in transitioning over to Linux System Administration. I am also interested in System Security and Penetration Testing.
Most recently, I was the senior developer of a small team with three dedicated CentOS linux servers providing our hosting. I've also been providing tech support, basic system admin and maintenance for all the companies and projects I've worked since 2000.
A junior level position in security and/or system administration position would give me the practical knowledge that I still need to make the shift over into Security and System Administration.
I prefer to work remotely and have done so full-time since 2000 but am open to relocation for the right opportunity.
World Adult Kickball Association
Site development, design, functional improvements and company-wide tech support. WAKA Kickball serves over 150,000 players in 200+ leagues. I began at WAKA with two days Drupal experience. The initial Drupal site launched on Feb. 15, 2009 with over 100,000 users ported from their old system. I was the only full-time programmer until April 2009. I currently share duties with one other full-time programmer as we rebuild the system from scratch in Drupal 7.
Draco provided web development/design services and hosting to a variety of clients.
